FAQ

Common questions and answers

Light gauge steel is very resistant against the effects of time, stress and weather. Compared to timber, steel does not rot, warp or decompose over time.

Installation of light gauge steel framing ranges from days to weeks, depending on the scope of your project. However, Rhodes’ design makes for easy installation.

Termite treatment is only required if the material itself is prone to termite attacks, as directed in the Australian Building Codes. Steel is resistant against the effects of termites so it does not need treatment.

Designing in prefabricated light gauge steel will result in large efficiency gains in the design process and on site. The system is surprisingly simple to learn and can be managed and installed with less trade skills than wood frames.

You can build multi-storey buildings with light gauge steel, up to 4 storeys tall.

We assure our customers that Rhodes’ light gauge steel will not rust. Our steel is galvanized in the process, meaning a protective zinc layer on the steel prevents it from rusting.
